WWW Wednesday!

It’s 8.11 pm here, I made it! I was going to post my Top Ten Tuesday yesterday but I honestly forgot until after midnight. So next week I’ll have two or maybe I’ll post something tomorrow. Anyway, here I am! I actually made it! Go me! I would have posted earlier but I needed to reorganize my bookshelves and I had a doctor’s appointment. (I’m good, guys! Just a touch of anemia again. Bah.)

I am currently reading two books at once! I used to be able to do it no issue but now? I sometimes find that my worlds will blend. Fortunately, that hasn’t happened. First, I am reading ‘Mirror, Mirror’ by Gregory Maguire. Its a retelling of Snow White but it features Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia. I love the Borgias; I think they’re so fascinating. Mr. Maguire is the genius behind Wicked and this is actually the first book by him that I”ve read, though I do have Wicked.

My second read is The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker, which tells The Iliad as seen through the eyes of Briseis, who was taken as Achilles’s slave after the sack of Lyrnessus. (You have no idea how hard it was to remember the name of that, lol.) It’s a very fascinating story thus far; I have only read the first four chapters, but I am very intrigued and look forward to reading more.

I’ve finished reading quite a few things lately; I’ve just posted their reviews in the last few days. I am Mrs. Jesse James, Daughter of a Daughter of a Queen. I have another review being posted tomorrow. Stay tuned! 😉  I just finished Three Dark Reigns too! I almost forgot to mention that. I am such a fangirl now. I bought the next in the series and the novellas, which were put together in one book. I need to get the newest one that was just released. (They didn’t have it yet! lol.)

I am planning to read…

I received both of them in the mail today and I’m just kind of fangirling as I do, haha. It actually made me glad I”m posting this late because I get to include my excitement over these. I also plan a reread of Dracul, which I can finally flail about to all of you. I have good things in store, I hope you’ll stick with me! ❤

I know I said something similar last week, but does it freak you guys out how fast this year is going by? It’s August already! And I’m a month and one day away from birthday number 32. I’m just in awe. I mean…where is time going? Granted, I’m looking forward to things happening–it’ll be primary day here and I can’t wait to vote. Make sure you’re registered! Your voice counts! And I’m, of course, looking forward to my birthday. Yearly trip to Books-A-Million!

I’m dying to get started on this one. It looks so good and I’m just over the moon to finally have it. I tried to get an ARC but that didn’t pan out. But it’s a-okay because Book of the Month had it. 😀

I finished MJ Rose’s Tiffany Blues! My review comes soon and I have an interview with her soon. Color me excited!

I am so in love with this story. I’ve had it on my shelf for a while but I had other books to read and I kind of forgot it. I would have finished it last night more than likely, but I was cross-eyed tired. But let’s just say, I am so grabbing up the rest of this series when I hit up Books-A-Million next month.

Surprisingly, this is my first time taking part in this meme! So, let’s get to it!

Recently I started The Mermaid by Christina Henry and I then plan on Mrs. Hancock and the Mermaid. I guess I am on a mermaid kick.

The Dollhouse by Fiona Davis. I didn’t love it quite as much as I hoped I would. I think had there been just the story set in the past, that would have suited me more. There were also elements that didn’t need to be there. I need to finish it but I feel like it’s probably going to be wrapped up too neatly.

I plan to read these beauties next. I have read Beauty and the Beast but I am thinking I may do a series on these because they’re so stunning. I love that they’re the original stories and I love how Minalima makes them so vibrant and interactive. They’re a beautiful combination. I am thinking I may begin with The Secret Garden. I saw it as a play when I was little but I don’t remember it. Hoping the book refreshes my memory!

Or The Little Mermaid, since the two books I’m reading/planning are mermaid tales, hrm. Then I could do a Mermaid week or something to wrap up the summer…
